The label is a snarling grizzly over the words "Klimbers by Kodiak", from the Canadian workwear name best known for its boots. This is the vest those boots went with: black duck canvas, quilted in vertical channels and lined throughout with thick cream sherpa-style pile. A rib-knit collar, a heavy brass zip, two chest pockets with brass snap flaps and two deep hand-warmer pockets below. The black has faded to charcoal along the seams, the pocket edges and the hem: the marks of a vest that was actually worn. Cut short and wide, it sits over a hoodie or a flannel, and the pile does the work on a cold morning.

Condition: Very Good vintage condition. The black canvas has an even, worn-in fade to charcoal at the seams, pocket edges and hem. There is a factory fabric quirk on the rear left, detailed in photos. The sherpa fleece lining is clean and full, and the zip and snaps work. There's no care label.
