Pieces of Jake – Shipping, Return & Exchange Policy

Shipping

‣ I currently ship to the following locations - all of which have the most reliable logistics infrastructures for global shipping: Canada, USA, UK, Europe, Australia & New Zealand, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and South Korea. If you are outside of these and wanting to make a purchase, please contact me directly.

All orders are fully tracked. A Signature is required for orders over $250 CAD.

Multiple Carrier and rate options are available at Checkout. Carriers include: Canada Post, DHL, FedEx, UPS and Purolator.

Customers are responsible for any import duties, taxes, or customs fees. Where duties are required (particularly for any US customers) - you have the option to pay your duties along with your shipping at Checkout - please use it to avoid any surprises on delivery or in transit.

Domestic Shipping within Canada takes approximately 2–5 business days via reliable carriers listed above.

International Shipping outside Canada, can take anywhere between 5–21 business days depending on the destination. Some regions may experience customs delays which are outside of my control.

Returns & Exchanges – Strict Policy

As this is a small 're-commerce' business selling predominantly vintage or pre-owned goods, I operate a strict NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS POLICY.

Pieces of Jake sells curated, one-of-a-kind vintage clothing and sneakers. Each item is unique and its condition is disclosed in detail in the listing. It is your job as 'the customer' to read the listing, review the photos, and research whether or not an item with fit you prior to committing to any purchase.

Exceptions:

Having worked in Retail in a variety of contexts, I understand that there are always exceptions to Policies that need to be made from time to time - largely due to human error. I value my own experience and diplomacy in resolving any issues that may arise and in those cases, and will work hard to come up with a reasonable solution to any reported problem, provided it adheres to the following guidelines:

ONLY if an item is grossly misrepresented by me in listing: I will offer you an exchange or store credit. You 'the customer' must notify me via email and provide photos as evidence within 48 hours of delivery. In this instance, Pieces of Jake is responsible for any Shipping costs in returning the item.

‣ ONLY if there is a fulfillment issue (i.e. wrong product shipped, or missing item in a bundle): I will send you the correct item and cover shipping, provided the item is still available. If that item has sold to another customer, you may choose a replacement of the same or similar value, store credit - or i may offer you a refund at my own discretion. You 'the customer' must notify me via email and provide photos as evidence within 48 hours of delivery. At my own discretion and in respect of associated shipping fees, I will decide how to handle the return of an incorrectly shipped item.

ONLY if an item is damaged in transit: I carefully package each order and photograph the parcel prior to handing it over to the carrier. If you item is damaged in transit, I will need to hold the carrier responsible and accountable for lack of care in handling. This process is made easier with your assistance, cooperation and patience. In this instance, you 'the customer' must notify me via email and provide photos as evidence within 48 hours of delivery. Parcel Insurance is recommended when selecting your preferred Shipping Service at Checkout.

‣ ONLY if you change your mind after delivery: If you decide you do not want an item after delivery for whatever reason, I will offer you an exchange or store credit. In this instance, you 'the customer' are solely responsible for paying any shipping and duties to return the unwanted item to me. Once received, the item will be inspected to ensure it is in the same condition as listed/sold. Worn or damaged items will not be accepted. If your item is approved for exchange, you will be given a store credit/unique code to the original purchase value of the item NOT inclusive of shipping and NOT inclusive of any taxes. In this instance, you must notify me within 48 hours of receipt.

Risk Management – Bad Faith or Problematic Customers

Once again, I value my own experience and diplomacy in resolving any issues that may arise and in those cases, and will work hard to come up with a reasonable solution to any reported problem. However, please note the following:

‣ Pieces of Jake reserves the right to deny returns, refunds, or exchanges for customers who are abusive, rude, or acting in bad faith.

‣ If I suspect fraud, misrepresentation, or abuse of the policy, we may refuse service and cancel orders without further notice.

Condition & Fit Transparency

‣ Every item has a detailed condition report, sizing, and measurements.

‣ Customers are responsible for reviewing size guides and measurement instructions before purchase.

‣ Photos of models wearing the item are provided where possible.

Insurance & Liability

‣ High-value items ($500+) are recommended to include optional shipping insurance at checkout.

‣ Pieces of Jake is not liable for lost packages unless insured.
